In the light of the fallen nature of man, the history of humanity is marked by various afflictions and abandonments. Whether it is the agony of separation of a spouses due to divorce, death of a loved one, depression, apathy to work, solitude, discrimination, marginalization and other human physiological conditions – to comfort these afflictions is to give a testimony and a witness that “The Lord has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted” (Is 49:13). God indeed comforts his people with the kindness of a shepherd (Is 40:11, Ps 23:4), the affection of a father, the ardor of a bridegroom and a husband (Is 54), and the tenderness of a mother (Is 66:11-13, 49:15). He has therefore bestowed to his people his promise (Ps 119:50), his mercy (Ps 119:76), the law and the prophets (2 Mac 15:9), and Scripture (1 Mac 12:9; Rom 15:4), all of which will allow them to overcome grief and live in hope. Because God permanently comforts the poor and afflicted (1 Cor 14:3; Rom 15:5; 2 Cor 7:6; Sir 48:24),
the B.O.L. foundation exercises this work of mercy as its essential function. The foundation will actively testify to this work of mercy by below initiatives, but not limited to:
